During our Oktoberfest trip we headed out to the Dacheau Concentration Camp. This experience was a real eye opener. It was amazing to see the awful living conditions of all the prisoners of the camp. After a half and hour intro video we walked about the camp visiting the camp dorms, the gas chambers that were disgused as showers for the prisoners and the crematorian. All very disturbing but an interesting look into history as well.
On a more fun note – we also headed up to the Andechs Beer Monastery!! We thought this would be a nice relaxing day in the sun to have a couple of beers and rest off our hangovers from Beerfest the evening prior…we were wrong!! This turned out to be the busiest place we visited in Europe (apart from Beerfest!!) We had to que for about 45 minutes just to get lunch. We were all seriously pale and about to faint due to lack of food and waiting in this stinking hot que – but once we made it it was like heaven!! Pork Knuckles was pretty much the only thing on the menu and these were delcious!! Massive but delcious!!
After lunch we headed around the Monastrey – to be honest we were a bit dissapointed!!
