Our cabin was fine..only problem is it had no natural light (unlike our sun deck chairs!), and our phone with our alarm decided to die….
…We woke up in a panic hoping we hadnt missed our island!! Lucky the boat was running late and we had about 15 minutes to gather our bags and get ready to hop off the boat and onto the island of Paros!!
We arrived in Paros (the 3rd largest of the islands) and checked into our hotel (3 star again! YAY!) We had a walk about town and the harbour before heading off to do what we had planned to in Greece…hit the beaches!!
On the way we got some 1 euro beach mats as we didnt have towels and the sand was hot hot hot!! We swam in the awesome beach of Krios, and Jax got scared as we spotted some sea urchants!!
That evening we looked around some more of the sites of the main town in Paros, including the Panagia Ekatontapyliani Church from 326AD. The name translates to the ‘Lady of a hundred gates’, but only 99 of the gates have been found in the church. The last one will ‘appear’ once Turkey comes back to Greece or something!! Gotta love legends!! Nothing beats our Maui pulling up a whole island though!!
That night we went for dinner at a little local place and tried the local dish of Mousaka (meat thingy) followed by som Grapa (the strongest shot EVER!!) We certainly slept well tonight.
