We’ll be honest..we love the beach, and the beaches in Greece are just amazing!! White sand, and crystal clear waters. No points for guessing what we did this morning then…hit the beach!!
Sadly it couldn’t last for too long as we had a boat to catch from the Mykonos Port to the island of Santorini!! The ferry ride isnt the best. You get shuttled on like cattle and treated like dirt.
Jax had an incident with a crew member..trust her!! She was yelled at and then puled at from her backpack. Problem was her backpack was straped to her and no-way was it coming off. Honestly it wasnt pretty and some pretty harsh words were said from both sides. Just because they were late (like always) doesnt mean they an treat us like dirt!! Now that that’s off our chest we can continue!!
The ferry ride was awful… our bags had to be stacked OUTSIDE on the deck..(lets hope they make it) and inside the ferry was the roughest trip we have had, added with the constant fumes of diesel coming through the air-con. The trip also included a lady being sick and a little kid running down the asile and slipping in it…gotta see the light side of a bad trip!!
We did finally make it to Santorini..even though it was dark and we couldn’t see a thing!! Still it was Santorini and we knew it must have been good!! That night we ate at the local Tavern and had a burger and chips (by the way, a burger in Greece is just the eat pattie and nothing else…it shocked me aswell!!) That night was the Olympic Opening Ceremony…how cool is it to watch this in the country that started it all!! Anyway, since we couldnt understand a thing we watched with the sound muted…and still to this day dont know why we had to wait until the end for NZ to come out….can anyone help clear this please email us jordanandjax@yahoo.co.nz!! Still we made it to when the NZ team came out and were very happy!!
By this stage it was late, we were tired and we had Santorini to cover tomorrow…time for bed!!
