Day two on the water! The beauty of this trip is you do NOTHING! Its a great feeling waking up in the morning and realising your saling on water that looks like glass! Nothing better than being woken by the fresh air through the open cabin door and the sun reflecting off the water!
Today we were heading to the Mljet! A Croatian National Park. We first headed down for breakfast and before long were lazing on the deck of the boat in the sun! The morning routine then consisted of jumping in the water at about 11am for an hour – then the school bell rang for lunch (the BEST part of the day) our cook was amazing. We were sure Mum Death was hiding in the kitchen – as the meals were SO fantastic!
We soon arrived at the Mljet national Park and Salt Lakes. we gathered a group of ‘fit’ travellers keen for some excersise from our ‘Midday’ beer drinking session on the boat! We hired some ‘shit’ (Jax words!) bikes and headed up the massive hills of the national Park towards the Salt Lakes. Watching toursists zoom past on scooters was dis-heartning, as we struggled up the hills!
It was worth it after all! The Salt Lakes were amzing! Heres me think that the Salt Lakes were similar to those in the States where they race cars like on ‘Worlds Fastest Indian’…no it was a lake, and it was salty! Due to our great preperation, the two of us had no choice but to strip down to our smalls and dive in the lakes…I was sure we were going to bounce off the lakes – thats how salty they were! You could just lay there and float the afternoon away! Evetually we had to get back on the bikes and tackle the hills again. We had a boat to catch!
That night we had a quiet night in the port of Polaca. As tommorrow a big night was planned as we hit Dubrovnik!
