We headed off for another day at school with the last lot of exams which were supposed to be completed last year! Yay!
After Jax issued and marked her Standard 7 Science class, it became apparent that the kids were cheating on there exams! As the other teachers told us not to stay in the classroom while the kids did their exams – as they are kids who ‘do not cheat’. It seems kids in Africa and back home are the same….and do sometimes give into the temptation! The kids were coming back to us with the exact same answers and the exact same marks – it didn’t take a investigator to work this one out!
We decided to hand out the last paper – with some scare tactics of our own! Jax headed to the classroom to sort out her class before the next exam was handed out – she proceeded to make the kids leave the classroom and then walk back in a single file – and then sit in a different seat and next to someone different! The kids faces were priceless – without telling them off we could tell that we knew that they were all cheating! This solved this small problem!
A highlight of the day is going home and seeing what ‘Nini’ has cooked us for out breaks (we have 4 meals breaks a day!!) 2x Breakfast, 1x Lunch, 1x Dinner and numerous Chi Tea Breaks! Today was sweet Potatoes just like NZ Kumeras!
After school we collected the firewood and once again Jax carried this home on her back, back to the kitchen for this evenings fire – this is starting to turn into a routine for us as well now!!
Later before sundown we went to Milk a cow – which was a nail biting experience….for Jax anyway! Jordan just had to take photos as Jax wrangled with a Cow that had a tendency to kick lots! Jax completed the task and we headed into the Mud hut for the evenings dinner and rest.
