Back to School…

19 01 2009

School Day, and finally a day in the classrooms teaching.

Well that was the plan, but today we arrived at school at 8am only to be told by 8:30am to close the school due to a nationwide teachers strike!! Great!! The kids STILL haven’t had a full day on the classroom this year!!

We all headed back home, but also grabbing the keys to the school shed, so we could continue our work on the desks while the strike continued. We hope that we only have 3 days off until we are back on the classroom. But for today we decided to rest as much as possible, and get any chores around the home completed, including 10 days of dirty washing!! By now Jordan’s jeans can stand up by themselves, and the kids love making fun of them and how dirty they have become!!

Today also marked the day Jax made her first complete African meal herself – the Chapati pancakes that we had a couple of mornings ago! That afternoon was also spent resting, reading, and Jax helped Nini bead necklaces. We also completed all the now ‘usual’ chores like collecting water and firewood.

That night Jordan felt the pressure of having two wives in one household – and was forced to eat two meals! One dinner with each wife!
