Another day of working with putty, windows, hammers, nails and desks! It was day 3 of the strike!
Again we got up early to beat the heat of the sun and mended further desks, and waited for the further volunteers to help with the windows. To our surprise – a van load of Kenyans also turned up to help, so we ended up only fixing in 4 more windows, as the pros did the rest! Disaster soon struck, as a volunteer had a plate of glass shatter on her head – luckily the damage wasn’t too bad, but nurse Jax ran home to get our first aid kit and mend her up.
We decided to rest that afternoon – after filling up on a plate of Ugali and Cabbage for lunch – the other volunteers left – leaving us free for the afternoon in the Kenyan plains.
