Today was all about media – and there certainly seems to be a lot of it in this amazing city of NYC!
After the morning bagel we decided top stroll to the Ed Sullivan Theatre to see about the possibility of getting tickets to a taping of the ‘Late Show with David Letterman’!.
On the way through we strolled through the Rockefeller Centre, home of great TV productions like 30 Rock, Saturday Night LIVE and also the Today show. For those of you without American TV – the Today Show is the Breakfast television programme with news and entertainment – and the hosts of the programme use a back drop of fans on the street trying to get on National TV – this morning we were two of them! Its a shame that we didnt know anyone to call and tell them to watch us!
Before long we had walked up Broadway and made it to the Ed Sullivan Theatre – on arrival we were asked to fill out a form for security, before being taken behind a large screen….we had to have a guest interview! They wanted to make sure that we were happy people and fans of the show! Talk about nerve racking! We must have impressed someone though, as we walked out of the theatre with a office number to call in about an hour for ticket confirmation! Success – after a phone call to Daves people, we were in!
Soon enough we were back at the theatre, and time for another guest interview! This time we got given our tickets…put with a blue dot on it. We were seperated form the rest of the group, and after questioning it were told that they wanted to offer us a FREE upgrade to the FRONT row! Bonus!
As you can imagine – the show was amazing and words don’t describe this once in a lifetime experience! Look out for us on TV tonight in the States and later in the week back home in NZ! Guest was Julia Louis-Dreyfus from Seinfeld! Jordan was wearing blue and Jax was wearing black!
