We`ve heard, read, but haven’t yet seen, some bad things about the Bus Company `Greyhound`. We choose to ride the Greyhound bus from Philly to Washington DC today, as we scored yet another bargain. In fact, we`ve decided on travelling quite a bit on the Greyhound Bus, with only one flight thrown in over the course of the next two months!
Checking out was hard this morning, knowing that this evening we were back to a hostel form our 4 star hotel. Shame Hotwire.com didn’t have any amazing rates in DC!
The Greyhound trip was fast, and efficient. Well that`s compared to the DC Metro system! Sure we arrived on a Sunday, but ticket system was so confusing, where we ended up paying $5 to get through the turnstile. To rub salt in our wounds, we waited 18 minutes for the next Red Line train. Welcome to DC!
We hope that the museums, galleries and monuments make up for this monumental bad start to what should be a great city!
The question is, are we somewhere along the road going to have the same frustration with Greyhound buses? We`ll find out for sure over the next two months!
