Its been a while since we have updated, and this is partly due to catching up on typing in the Kenyan Blog – and partly because we are trying to settle into a new city!!
We realised how stressful moving to a new country can be, yet we chose to do it again, and this time we didn’t know anyone! After moving into our hostel, we decided that finding a house would be job number 1. So we spent a good week finding a new place. Thanks to Craigslist website, we now have a apartment…and we don’t have to share with anyone!!
The problem was that Toronto apartments don’t come furnished like in London – so back on Craigslist to find furniture….including a bed! Lucky we found a French couple with LOTS of nice furniture available, as they we leaving their apartment to go back to France – so got a LOT of furniture off them like a couch, bed, coffee table etc….all for around $300! Bargain!
After visiting other ‘Craigslist’ sellers, and a couple of trips to Ikea, we had finally set up our house….problem was now we had no money! Next step was finding a job!
To this day Jordan is working for XM Radio in the Sales Department, in a role similar to what I was doing in London. Jax has had 2 jobs already…both crap but paid in cash! The 3rd job is looking promising…touch wood….with cosmetics again, we should hear about that soon!
Apart form that everything is going ok – we haven’t yet had the chance to be tourists in Toronto, but have enjoyed the city with a spot of shopping and plenty of walking around.
Yes the weather is cold at the moment….with LOTS of snow….but the cold is refreshing and nice, not like London’s constant wind and rain!
